Student Celebrations

glp14As part of our Gifted and Talented programme children from Year 5 joined with pupils from the Outer East Family of schools to take part in a joint science project. The pupils worked with the Children Challenging Industry scheme and investigated the viscosity of liquids. The group visited the CIBA factory in Bradford and took part in a series of science days which culminated in a presentation of their work to staff and parents.

Children from Year 6 joined with pupils from other Garforth primary schools to take part in a maths challenge and puzzle session at Strawberry Fields. The children paired up with pupils from other schools to solve festive mathematical puzzles. William and his partner managed to win a medal, but a good time was had by all the participating children.

A big thank you to Mrs Clark for organising the event.

Calling All Artists

There was no April foolery on April 1st this year when two of our most talented Year 4 artists spent a couple of days at Kippax North with other young artists from the area. The children used a variety of techniques to create a number of pieces of work all based on a flowers theme.

Charlotte's favourite piece was made using plasticine. She made a pencil drawing of a flower and then smudged small amounts of plasticine on to add vibrant, three dimensional colour.

Hopefully some of Dan and Charlotte's work will be on display at Temple Newsam in the summer.
