The Big Sing

14th June 2018

For the last two months, the GLPA choir have been rehearsing for their biggest concert so far - The Big Sing.

Twenty seven children from Year 1 to 6 have been working hard to learn songs that were written one hundred years ago to commemorate the century anniversary of World War One. These songs were hard and not typically the kind of music that we have been singing recently in the choir. The children were so interested in the music and the lyrics and have learnt a great deal about the important events that took place such a long time ago. They responded brilliantly to the music and all learnt their lines to perform  professionally and passionately in last night's concert at Leeds Town Hall. Our choir was part of a whole ensemble of children from schools across Yorkshire which were comprised of almost four hundred young singers. The house was packed and all the families came along to see what the children have been working towards this term.

It was a fantastic show and we are all very proud of them.

Thank you everyone for all your support, especially Mrs Martin and Miss Daniels.
