Y4 residential updated 7th June 2pm

5th June 2018

Mr Tull and Mrs Waddington report that the children have had a great day at Vindolanda - the museum staff commented on how well behaved the children were.  They are slightly delayed arriving at the Youth Hostel but are expected within the next 15 minutes. Dinner is ready and then the children will explore the grounds and settle into their rooms. No problems at all to report. the children are safe, happy and well.

9.45 A cloudy but dry day here. Most children asleep by 10pm and all by 11.15 and up at 6am. No problems at all overnight. The children have had a full English breakfast and are at present enjoying the stories from our Roman visitor. More updates this evening.

20.45 The internet has been down so apologies for late update. The childrren have had a wonderful day, a Roman soldier visited us and the children learnt about artefacts, tried on costumes and had a gladiatorial battle. This afternoon we have been on a walk around the reservoir, played games in the forest, visited the tuck shop and this evening was Y4's Got Talent. The children have eaten well and are now in bed. All are well and happy.

I note from some comments on social media by parents regarding photos. Photos will not be posted on the website until we have returned to school and the photos have been checked for permissions. We hope that parents will be able to arrive a little earlier to Hazel and Chestnut class assemblies in the next two weeks as we will have a slide show on loop from the residential.

We estimate our time of arrival back at school to be 2.30 tomorrow.

UPDATE 7th June 2pm - The coach suffered an oil leak before picking up the children to come home and so their return will be delayed possibly now around 3.15pm or a little after. An updated time of arrival will be posted here once we know what time to expect them.

2.20pm- The coach has left Osmotherley ETA around 3.15pm traffic permitting.
