In Early Years this week…
This week saw the first of this year’s Stay and Play sessions. In Reception, we were pretending it was Hallowe’en- the Potions Lab was frightfully busy with witches and wizards popping in and out! Children discovered spooky spiders, eyeballs, skeletons and mysterious lights in the sand and water tray! Many also enjoyed the multi-cultural aspect of learning where they took part in art activities linked to Diwali (such as Mehndi hand painting). Parents commented on how much they’d enjoyed playing alongside their children both indoors and out, and observing either a phonics lesson (in Nursery) or a mental maths session (in Reception). We would like to thank all parents and family members for attending and look forward to the next one!
A special thanks also this week to Miss Baxter who came in to speak to the Reception children about the importance of mental health and demonstrate Mindfulness. Thanks also to Mrs Robertson for continuing to provide exciting opportunities each week for our Nursery children to learn Spanish.
