Garforth Academy Shines with an Outstanding Ofsted Rating!
Garforth Academy is delighted to announce that it has received an Outstanding rating across all areas in its latest Ofsted inspection, held on 5th and 6th November 2024. This recognition reflects the incredible commitment, hard work, and passion of the academies students, staff, and the entire school community.
The Ofsted report highlights outstanding quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision. The school’s high expectations for all students are evident, with dedicated staff ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their very best.
Students at Garforth Academy consistently meet the academy’s high expectations for conduct, demonstrating maturity and respect both in lessons and throughout the academy. The report praised the students, many of whom take on leadership roles, such as acting as reading ambassadors or participating in the Duke of Edinburgh award programme. Sixth Form students are highlighted as excellent role models, inspiring younger students. The inspection also commended the academy’s rich and ambitious curriculum, which allows students to achieve outstanding results in public examinations. In addition to their academic studies, students benefit from a wide range of activities, including educational trips, leadership opportunities, and social action projects. Extra-curricular activities, such as Latin and performing arts, provide students with the chance to explore their interests and talents.
The academy also ensures that students are well-prepared for life beyond education with outstanding career advice, helping them navigate pathways into further education, employment, or training. Many Sixth Form students progress into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment, especially through the academy’s strong employer partnerships. The Ofsted report also highlighted the academy’s effective pastoral care and support for students with special educational needs, ensuring that all students are equipped to succeed.
