On Thursday we had an inspirational visit from former GB Olympic swimmer James Kirton. He spent time with both Year 6 classes sharing his story of how he got the pinnacle of his sport and the key to his success – keeping going and never giving up! He then delivered a whole school assembly where he shared his journey from starting swimming as a youngster to Beijing 2008. Jessica in Year 3 said “It was a wonderful assembly.” He ended his time with us by visiting EYFS and sharing his message with the children (and even having lunch with them!) Staff and children were both equally inspired by his message which will hopefully motivate our children during the coming academic year inside the classroom!
